Macross... I mean, how do you fuck up ships, mechs, huge battles and aliens.....Oh wait, you give it to some prick Hollywood producer with 0 creative ability and he hands it off to Uwe Bole. Yet another person I wish would swallow a knife.
Well Robotech *Macross* is being discussed already. Seems to be going in and out of development.
If its any action series, at least it should be done visually and stylistically like SuckerPunch. SP is a template to use to make anime adaptations if it were American adaptations. Otherwise it gets rung through white wash, writers, merchandising, "Adaptation for American consumption" and alienation of the fans while creating a new set of fans completely disregarding the original works.
I would go for a live action adaptation of Black Lagoon. If its one series that translates easily to an American audience, it may just be Black Lagoon. Ghost in the Shell. I think they would honestly have to choose of the 3 feature films *GITS, GITS Innocence, and Solid State Society), or at least one of the season series movie adaptations, Laughing man and Stand Alone Complex *2nd Gig*. If Evangelion would get a live action adaptation, (if it escapes development purgatory) it should follow the Rebuild story line, with Weta Workshop and ILM on special effects, maybe Christopher Nolan at the helm with Tim Burton.
Monster. It does not need any high budget special effects and the story translates to live action very well. Get the right casting and It could be a huge hit.
Devious Comments
Just think about it!

If anything else, probably Darker than Black.
