First of all, we'd like to extend our warmest thanks to everyone who attended Mangaholix Manga Mania last May 31. Our event would not have been such a success without the support you've all shown Mangaholix for the the past year that we've been around.
More importantly, we'd like to extend our most heartfelt apology to those who may have been pushed aside by our security detail during the said event. Any such bruising would have likely occurred during their escort of Alodia, one of our special guests during said event. Rest assured, Alodia herself had nothing to do with how the security personnel chose to handle escorting her. She did in fact request for far lighter security, which we did relay to our security head at the time. Unfortunately, perhaps due to our lack of experience in such situations, we still took much under the advisement of our security head and it is now evident that he did not agree with our request to lighten the security on her.
In retrospect, we agree with popular opinion that the security escort assigned to Alodia was far more than necessary and rather excessive for the situation. However, we'd like to ask for some understanding on this part, as the safety and wellbeing of our guests and VIPs is not something we should or would take lightly. While security may have been rather excessive in how they handled things, we must understand that that is their job and that's what they're trained to do. We would still rather err on the side of caution than have an untoward incident occur during our convention and regret not taking security more seriously. Such is the mindset of security personnel and we cannot completely disagree with it.
We heavily regret if this has soured the convention experience for some of you but rest assured, such occurrences won't happen in any future event that we handle. This has taught us a great many lessons and we will aim to strike the much needed balance between security and personal enjoyment in the future. We thank you all for your kind understanding. We look hope and look forward to your continued support and patronage.
